In my Senior year an Army recruiter came to school to explain a new Army Reserve program. I inlisted along with seven other GHHS Seniors. After completing my active duty requirements I went to OSU for two years. That time at OSU was just not for me. I joined the Grandview Heitght Division of Fire and spent twenty eight years on the Department. I retired as Fire Chief in 1988. I had a love for bass fishing and in 1970 had built a lake side camp house in Louisiana. After retirement I sold my home in Grandview and moved to Louisiana. Later I sold the Louisiana home and moved back to Grove City, OH where I had some friends. I swapped fishing for target shooting on some property I have in the Hocking Hills. I am still shooting but some health issues have slowed me down.
